Phuket’s LHM thrives in supporting struggling boutique hotels

PHUKET: As the current tourism high season in Phuket unfolds, many of the popular boutique hotels and rental accommodations on the island are taking advantage of the range of expert hospitality services offered by Phuket-based LHM Asia, known in full as Luxury Hotel Management.

Founded in 2013 by Jorge A. De la Torre Koch and François Xavier Miel, who together have more than 20 years of strong experience and background in hotel management and sales and marketing, LHM offers services ranging from online sales and marketing to property management to outsourced financial services support to human resources, recruitment and training.

Two Chefs and LHM in The Phuket News 23rd November 2015“Boutique hotels, being much smaller than their international-franchise counterparts, often do not have the full range of skills required to take full advantage of the business opportunities their properties offer,” explained Mr De la Torre.

“In Phuket there are more than 2,000 properties and every year more and more open, which creates difficulties for many hotels to succeed.

“Phuket is a top worldwide tourism destination. Many people invest and/or are interested in opening a hotel, serviced apartments and so on, but do not have always the experience, networks and expertise to succeed in the long term.

“Hiring an outsourced sales consulting company such as LHM helps them to secure their business, save money and time,” he added.

Over the past year, business has boomed. In 2014, LHM Asia grew tremendously in response to high demand from hotels and resorts in need of income generation.

“Now LHM is handling a portfolio of more than 23 properties, including hotels and resorts, boutique hotels, luxury villas, serviced apartments, and more,” said Mr De la Torre.

LHM Asia’s list of current clients include: Resava Group: Allamanda Laguna Phuket, Baan Yamu, Surin Park, Art Patong, Two Chefs Inn, Vera Club Italy / Orientours: Thavorn Palm Beach Resort, Banana Leaf Hotel, Arya Boutique Room Hotel, Micky Monkey Beach Resort and Da Mario Hotel & Restaurant.

“LHM’s quick success is mainly due to our capacity of increasing revenue for hotels by creating new sales channels,” explained LHM founding partner Mr Miel.

LHM Asia and their dedicated team assist owners and general managers to increase their production and improve their standards, he said.

“With our expertise and network, we act on behalf of the properties to find new customers,” he explained. “LHM connects our clients with new travel agents and tour operators. For some properties, we also handle all Sales & Marketing operations, including online business,” noted Mr Miel.

LHM Asia opened a second office on Koh Samui last month, and is now expanding to offer consultancy service to properties in Krabi, Hua Hin and Pattaya, and also provides smart solutions for hoteliers & professional companies.

“Many clients – and not just hotels, but businesses in other sectors – are taking advantage of the new range of unique Japanese-patented products we offer that can help support the drive in cost-effectiveness,” said Mr De la Torre.

“For example, we offer a simple filter for air conditioners that has been scientifically proven drastically reduce the consumption of energy by more than 20 per cent – guaranteed. At the same time, the product purifies the air. It is a revolutionary product that saves energy and money.”
